What affects your entitlement
- Residency and immigration status. British and Irish citizens, settled status, refugees and people with humanitarian protection are treated differently from pre-settled status and other leave.
- Course level and start date. The programme that applies depends on when your course starts, not when you apply.
- Previous study and previous funding. Years already funded reduce what remains. We flag this for assessment instead of guessing.
- Household income and where you live. Maintenance support is tapered by income and depends on whether you live at home, away, or in London.
- Children and dependants. Additional grants may apply, including childcare support.
